Prettig hotel in een echte Romeinse wijk

Wij kozen dit hotel om de fietsen: de Via Appia Antica is op een halfuur fietsen en het hotel verhuurt goede stadsfietsen. De kamer was ruim en fris, met goed werkende airco en dubbel glas. Ontbijt in de serre was prima, met verse croissants. Testaccio heeft een geweldige markt en veel restaurants waar vooral Romeinen komen. Parkeren in de garage om de hoek was een uitkomst.

Hotel classico e ben gestito in una zona autentica, lontana dal caos turistico ma a una fermata di metro dal Colosseo. La camera doppia era spaziosa e pulita, con bagno datato ma funzionale. Colazione buona, con cornetti e salumi, e terrazza al quinto piano perfetta per l'aperitivo. Il personale ci ha consigliato trattorie eccellenti nel quartiere. Il traffico su Via Marmorata si sente un po' al mattino.

Gut gelegen, Zimmer etwas in die Jahre gekommen

Das Hotel ist eine gute Basis: Metro Piramide in fünf Minuten, das Kolosseum eine Station entfernt, und der Bahnhof Ostiense mit Zug zum Flughafen gleich um die Ecke. Unser Doppelzimmer war sauber, aber Möbel und Bad wirken etwas abgenutzt. Das Frühstück war ordentlich, der Kaffee gut. Die Dachterrasse mit Blick auf die Pyramide ist ein schönes Extra. Freundliches Personal, fairer Preis mit Rabatt.

Good value, real neighbourhood

We stayed in a superior room with a small balcony looking towards the Aventine. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked well, and the double glazing kept most of the traffic noise out. Breakfast was decent rather than spectacular. The best part was Testaccio itself: the market, the trattorias and a quiet walk to the Orange Garden at sunset. Metro Piramide is close and the airport train from Ostiense was very handy.
