Casa Ottaviano is a family-run guesthouse on the third floor of a stately building, five minutes from St Peter's Square and the Ottaviano metro stop. The seven rooms are simple but welcoming, with wrought-iron beds, air conditioning, TV and private bathroom; some overlook a tree-lined courtyard. A small shared kitchen with fridge and coffee machine is always available to guests.
Breakfast is not included, but the partner bar on the ground floor serves cappuccino and cornetto at a discounted price. The neighbourhood is quiet, safe and full of supermarkets and pizza al taglio spots. Small pets are welcome. An honest option for pilgrims, budget-conscious travellers and anyone wanting to visit the Vatican at first light.

A simple guesthouse run by a lovely family. Our twin room was clean and cool, with a decent shower. The shared kitchen was handy for making coffee and storing snacks. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe, full of supermarkets and pizza al taglio places, and the metro at Ottaviano gets you to the centre in minutes. Walls are thin, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
Pensión familiar muy bien situada: en cinco minutos estás en la plaza de San Pedro. La habitación doble era sencilla, con cama de hierro, aire acondicionado y baño privado pequeño pero limpio. No hay desayuno, pero el bar de abajo hace descuento y el cappuccino es buenísimo. La dueña nos guardó las maletas el último día. Muy buena relación calidad-precio.
Siamo venuti per l'udienza del mercoledì e la posizione è stata perfetta: cinque minuti a piedi e si è in piazza. Camera tripla pulita e silenziosa sul cortile, bagno piccolo ma nuovo. La cucina comune ci ha permesso di fare colazione da soli risparmiando. La signora è gentilissima e ha accolto anche il nostro cagnolino. Prezzo davvero onesto.
Kleine Pension in einem ruhigen Wohnviertel, fünf Minuten vom Petersplatz. Das Zimmer war schlicht, aber sauber, mit funktionierender Klimaanlage und eigenem Bad. Die Gemeinschaftsküche mit Kaffeemaschine war praktisch. Die Wände sind etwas dünn, man hört die Nachbarn. Kein Frühstück, aber die Bar unten ist günstig und gut. Für den Preis absolut in Ordnung.
Небольшой гостевой дом в тихом районе Прати, до площади Святого Петра пять минут пешком, метро Оттавиано рядом. Номер простой, но чистый, с кондиционером и своей ванной. Общая кухня с кофемашиной очень пригодилась по утрам. Завтрака нет, но бар внизу делает скидку постояльцам. Хозяйка приветливая, помогла с багажом. Стены тонковаты, слышно соседей.
