About this property

Casa Lungaretta is a small family-run guesthouse on a pedestrian lane in Trastevere, two hundred metres from the Basilica of Santa Maria and the alleys lined with artisan workshops. The six rooms, carved out of an 18th-century house, feature terracotta floors, wrought-iron beds and modern bathrooms; every morning breakfast is prepared in-house with fresh cornetti, jams and seasonal fruit and served on the terrace.

Guests are welcomed by Paola and Luca, who know every trattoria in the neighbourhood and are happy to recommend where to dine away from the tourist queues. Tram 8 reaches Largo Argentina in a few minutes, while the Gianicolo and Tiber Island are within walking distance. The neighbourhood is lively in the evening: the rooms overlooking the inner courtyard are the quietest.

Charming, a bit noisy on weekends

Lovely family-run guesthouse in the heart of Trastevere. Our superior room had a tiny balcony over the lane, a wrought-iron bed and a great shower. Breakfast on the terrace was the highlight: fresh pastries, homemade jam, good coffee. Be aware that the street gets lively until late on Saturdays; ask for a courtyard room if you are a light sleeper. Hosts were incredibly kind.

Encantadora y muy bien situada

Nos alojamos tres noches en la habitación triple con mi madre y mi hermana. La casa tiene mucho carácter, techos altos y suelos antiguos, aunque el baño es algo pequeño para tres personas. El desayuno casero en la terraza fue estupendo y Paola nos recomendó una trattoria buenísima a dos calles. Trastevere es precioso, pero de noche hay bastante ambiente. Repetiríamos sin duda.

Paola e Luca ci hanno trattato come ospiti di casa: consigli su dove mangiare, mappa disegnata a mano, cornetti caldi ogni mattina in terrazza. La camera doppia sul cortile era silenziosa nonostante la movida di Trastevere, con aria condizionata efficiente e bagno rifatto da poco. La stanza è piccola ma curata nei dettagli. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo per la zona.

Gezellig pension midden in Trastevere

Een heerlijk klein pension in een autovrij straatje. De kamer was eenvoudig maar schoon, met een goed bed en een stille binnenplaats. Het ontbijt met verse croissants en fruit op het dakterras was elke ochtend een feest. Luca gaf ons uitstekende tips voor restaurants zonder toeristen. Tram 8 naar het centrum is op loopafstand. Enige minpunt: geen lift, dus koffers de trap op.
